HomeWho it’s forTransfer agents & registrars

Keep one register, on chain and off.

Your job doesn’t change. The on-chain holder list finally behaves like a register.

Today, and with ERC-3643.

Today

On-chain holders drift from the register.

With ERC-3643

Only investors you’ve registered can hold units.

How it works
Function
registerIdentity(), isVerified()
Who acts
An agent of the identity registry, usually you.
Recorded
IdentityRegistered for every wallet added.
Today

Eligibility is caught after the trade.

With ERC-3643

Every transfer is checked first. If it fails, nothing moves.

How it works
Function
isVerified() then canTransfer(), inside every transfer()
Who acts
No one. The check is automatic.
Recorded
Transfer when it succeeds. Nothing to unwind when it fails.
Today

A lost key means a lost holding.

With ERC-3643

You recover it to the investor’s new wallet.

How it works
Function
recoveryAddress(lostWallet, newWallet, onchainID)
Who acts
An agent of the token.
Condition
The new wallet must already be a management key on the investor’s on-chain identity.
Recorded
RecoverySuccess, plus the registry changes.

How it works
Function
forcedTransfer(from, to, amount)

An agent of the token.

The receiver must be verified. The offering’s transfer rules aren’t applied.

Sanctions hits and legal holds.

With ERC-3643

Freeze a wallet, or just the units in dispute.

How it works
Function
setAddressFrozen(), freezePartialTokens()
Who acts
An agent of the token.
Recorded
AddressFrozen or TokensFrozen.
Today

Subscriptions and redemptions, one by one.

With ERC-3643

Process many investors in one transaction.

How it works
Function
batchMint(), batchBurn(), batchForcedTransfer()
Who acts
An agent of the token.
Recorded
One event per investor, in one transaction.

What stays the same

It doesn’t replace your licence or your obligations. It gives you the controls to meet them.

Questions you’ll be asked

Who decides who can be an agent?
The token’s owner, usually the issuer, appoints and removes agents. Every change is recorded on chain.
Can an agent move units without any check?
A forced transfer skips the offering’s transfer rules, but the receiver must still be a verified investor.
Where is investor personal data stored?
Not on chain. A wallet links to an on-chain identity holding signed claims from verifiers. The KYC records stay with the verifier.
What if the offering’s rules change?
The owner can update or replace the compliance contract. The token follows the new rules from the next transfer.
